how to get rid of that pimple

get-rid-of-that-zit1

Although I have dry skin, I often get that awkward pimple on my chin or on my forehead. This kind of zit seems to appear super quickly and loves to stay on my skin for days and days. When that happens, I reach for these five skin miracles.

If the pimple is really red and irritated, I reach for the Etat pur ‘salicylic acid’*. This little dropper is packed with pure salicylic acid, which is one of the best ingredients for acne prone skin. Now this is really effective but also really drying for the skin, so be careful about where you use it as it leaves your skin looking flaky. The Origins ‘super spot remover’ is my weapon of choice to treat spots overnight. I usually apply a fair amount of this clear gel with a cotton bud and when I wake up, my pimple is on its way out. I don’t find it to be particularly drying but if you have a skin that tends to get really really dry, don’t forget to moisturize the area around it. The latest addition to my stash is the Clinique ‘anti blemish solution clinical clearing gel’*.  The formulation of this little guy is probably my favorite as I find it to be really efficient but not drying at all. If you have a skin that is prone to pimples, you can use a thin layer of this all over your face but honestly, I never tried that. What I do instead is that I reach for this Tiffany blue bottle when I feel a zit coming up, and I apply it on that area with a cotton pad. I find that it does wonders on soon-to-be spots and help clear those already there.

Finally, to keep my skin clear on a regular basis, I use the Clarins ‘gentle exfoliator brightening toner’ on a daily basis and the Alpha H ‘liquid gold’ once a week. These are packed with different acids that will help to exfoliate your skin and make it look clearer and brighter.

Last few tips to get you going: drink lots of water, eat a lot of antioxidants foods and make sure not to wear too much make up as this might clog your pores and make the situation worse.
